33 1/3 is a series of short books about a wide variety of albums launched in September 2003; the series now contains over 60 titles and is acclaimed and loved by fans, musicians, and scholars alike. Greenlight caps a month-long feature display of 33 1/3's titles with a panel discussion with four local writers who have contributed to the wildly popular series. Daphne Carr, series editor of Best Music Writing and an editor at Current Musicology, collects oral histories from fans in the post-industrial Midwest to illuminate Nine Inch Nails' Pretty Hate Machine. Brooklyn-based writer and musician Hank Shteamer examines Chocolate and Cheese as a pivotal moment in Ween's development into one of the world's most enduring cult bands. Brooklyn music writer Christopher Weingarten, author of the polarizing speech "Twitter And The Death Of Music Criticism", analyzes the recording techniques used by Public Enemy in creating the singular-sounding It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back. Bryan Charles, author of the novel Grab on to Me Tightly As If I Knew The Way and the memoir There's a Road to Everywhere Except Where You Came From, interviews the members of Pavement and their record label staff in his examination of the album Wowee Zowee.
